President and Head of Global Real Estate

Peter has been with Fiera Real Estate throughout their formative years and instrumental in the development and growth of the firm’s business. Prior to being promoted into the role as President for the firm in November 2017, Peter was Chief Operating Officer with a focus on improving risk management and performance analytics and was also charged with the direct management of the Fiera Real Estate CORE Real Estate Fund. He was instrumental in the rapid growth of the fund, including the successful deployment of investors’ committed funds. The business now manages more than $5 billion of AUM and the Fiera Real Estate CORE Fund surpassed the $2.5 billion mark for assets under management and has yielded top quartile returns to its investors. As President and Global Head of Real Estate his focus is on the Global expansion and evolution of the Real Estate Investment Management business. The vision is to create a high performing investment platform and range of strategies, that allow our investors to diversify their exposure to real estate investment across strategies, sectors, regions and countries.

 

Peter’s multi-disciplinary background includes hands-on experience with capital fundraising, real estate portfolio and asset management, real estate finance, appraisal, workouts, leasing, acquisitions and dispositions. Over the course of his career, he has been personally involved in the financing, valuation, management and investment of more than $8 billion of commercial real estate. Peter has a broad perspective of the real estate industry, having worked in the institutional, public-market, brokerage, and private-sector environments.

Peter has served his community through his involvement with various charities and coaching of minor hockey teams. Currently, Peter serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board with the Toronto Chapter of Variety the Children’s Charity and Variety Village.

Blair McCreadie Blair McCreadie AACI

Executive Vice President, Head of Canadian Real Estate and CORE Fund Manager

As a key member of Fiera Real Estate’s senior management team, Blair’s main focus is the strategic management and continued growth of the Fiera Real Estate CORE Real Estate Fund.

This Canadian opened-ended pooled fund is well diversified by sector and region and has delivered higher-than-average returns to its investors since the fund’s inception in June 2013. The fund is on track to surpass $2.5-billion in gross asset value in 2019.


Blair’s 29 years-plus experience in real estate includes direct involvement in investment valuations, asset underwriting, financing, leasing, and asset management. Prior to joining Fiera Real Estate, he spent more than 15 years with one of the largest and longest-established, open-ended pooled real estate funds in Canada. There, he held a number of increasingly senior positions, which culminated in his appointment as head of Canadian real estate. Blair was instrumental in driving performance, managing capital deployment and overseeing a period of rapid growth in 2011 and 2012, when the fund was the most active acquirer of real estate in Canada. Blair has also been responsible for raising capital for numerous real estate vehicles, domestically and internationally, creating and launching new products and maintaining client relationships.

Blair is a graduate of York University and holds an Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation.

William Secnik William Secnik

Senior Vice President, Investments

William has more than 21 years of experience in the real estate investment industry and more than $3 billion of transactional activity to his credit.

His expertise and involvement includes acquisitions, financings, repositionings and dispositions, on behalf of a cross-section of investment vehicles, core and opportunity funds, as well as leading TSX-listed firms, in competitive and rapidly evolving environments.

A core member of Fiera Real Estate’ senior management team, William reports to the President. Working closely with fund managers and the asset management team, his primary responsibility is to source and execute real estate investment transactions for each of the firm’s real estate funds.

Prior to joining Fiera Capital, William was a fund manager for a $1.9-billion real estate fund with 128 assets comprising 10.6 million square feet under management. In that capacity, he executed more than $620 million of transactions, led the fund’s strategy and interfaced with various institutional clients. William previously was a senior member of a TSX-listed firm, where he focused on growing the mixed-use portfolio while divesting non-core assets.

William is a graduate of Ryerson University and of the University of British Columbia’s Urban Land Economics Program.

Graham Pattison Graham Pattison P.Eng

Senior Vice-President, Segregated Funds

Graham has more than 23 years experience in real estate management and investment across all property types.

As Senior Vice President, Segregated Funds, he oversees the asset-management team whose jurisdiction includes all real estate portfolios and funds managed by Fiera Real Estate. Graham has overall responsibility for all property business plans, reporting, and property/project financing arrangements.

Graham began his career as a building design engineer at a large east-coast engineering consulting firm, ADI Limited. He subsequently worked for Halifax-based Universal Property Management, where he was responsible for the management of office, retail and residential properties.

Graham joined Roycom, a forerunner of Fiera Real Estate, in 1998 as a financial analyst and was subsequently promoted to the position of Asset Manager. In that role, he was responsible for creating and implementing property business plans and managing all of the firm’s property managers and leasing agents. In 2006, Graham was named Vice President, expanding his responsibilities to include oversight of investor reporting, acquisition due diligence and property financing.

Graham earned an MBA from the University of New Brunswick and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Dalhousie University, and holds a professional engineering designation.

Pierre Pelletier Pierre Pelletier

Senior Vice President, Opportunity and Development Funds

As Senior Vice President, Opportunity and Development Funds, Pierre is responsible for the strategic management and continued growth of all of Fiera Real Estate Opportunity and Development funds.

He oversees all investment operations, including strategy, asset allocation and portfolio management and is also responsible for investors’ relations and capital-raising efforts. Pierre has 20 years of experience in the real estate industry of which over 15 years have been dedicated to real estate development. He started his career as an Associate for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Paris. In 2002, Pierre joined Maestro, a subsidiary of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, where he was in charge of investments for the student housing fund. He then joined Ipso Facto Real Estate Funds as Director, Investments, where he was involved in all phases of the investment cycle. In January 2014, he founded Fiera’s first Quebec Opportunity and Development real estate investment platform where he acted as Senior Vice president, Investments. During his career, Pierre has been involved in the development, acquisition and management of over $5.4B of real estate assets representing more than 22,000 residential units, 1.3M sq. ft. of commercial space and 600,000 sq. ft. of office space. He was involved in the creation of seven successful real estate investment funds and administered more than $660M of capital under management.

Peter McFarlane Peter McFarlane

Senior Vice President, Asset Management

As Senior Vice President, Asset Management, Peter is responsible for the asset management of Fiera Real Estate Funds, including supervision of third-party property management and leasing professionals, preparation of annual operating budgets, and approval and execution of capital spending and leasing programs.

Prior to joining Fiera Real Estate in 2016, Peter worked as Vice President, Asset Management, at global real estate firm LaSalle Investment Management, where he worked alongside a team responsible for $1.2 billion of office, industrial, residential and retail properties across Canada. His role also included management of problematic properties, property dispositions and the development of new investment vehicles.

Prior to LaSalle, Peter worked as Manager, Real Estate, for the Bank of Nova Scotia. He was part of an asset management, leasing and global transaction team responsible for more than 1,100 bank branches and an international office portfolio. Earlier in his career Peter was part of a two-person team at IGRI Advisors / Giffels Management Limited that managed portfolios of income-producing assets on behalf of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) and other institutional investors.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Environment from McGill University. Peter is active in professional and community circles and was a member of the board of the National Association for Industrial and Office Parks. In 1998 Peter founded Schools Without Borders.

Kathy Black Kathy Black

Vice President, Development

As Vice President, Development, Kathy is responsible for the investment activities of Fiera Real Estate Funds in the Province of Ontario and Western Canada.
In addition to contributing to prospecting new potential partners, she analyzes investment opportunities and leads, due diligence activities, and collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Kathy has over 16 years of experience in the real estate industry, focusing on real estate developments of various asset classes. She has overseen projects totaling more than $2.0 billion for a combined 10,000 residential units with areas of expertise in municipal approval processes, development and project management.

Prior to joining Fiera Real Estate, Kathy was actively working with various developers on projects ranging from Multi-Unit High-Rise condominiums to Executive Single Family Townhomes, Retail and Commercial Buildings. With areas of expertise in Municipal approval processes, preconstruction design development, schematic design and project management, Kathy skillfully lead projects throughout various municipalities and the unique policy challenges they face. Kathy’s expertise also pertains to due diligence, land purchase and project feasibility, land zoning, site specific planning, and financial decisions. An expert at managing a full development team, Kathy guides projects throughout their life cycle with a strong focus on Client relations through consistent communication and tireless resolve. With a strong understanding on financial investments, Kathy successfully lead projects to meet both project and budget goals.

Kathy earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto. Kathy is active in professional and community circles and is an active member of the Mississauga Chinese Parent Association, leading the Parent Council and managing a body of over 500 students.

Dwayne Doolan Dwayne Doolan

Vice President, Leasing

Dwayne has more than 23 years' experience in the management and leasing of commercial real estate investments across all asset types.

Dwayne is Vice President, Leasing with Fiera Real Estate and is responsible for the leasing function for all assets under management.
Dwayne joined Roycom Inc./Fiera in 2007 as Asset Manager responsible for the performance and business strategy of each property within the portfolios under management.

He was also heavily involved in acquisition due diligence and client relationships, later assuming the role of Vice President, Asset Management, Segregated Funds. Dwayne started his real estate career as Operations Manager for a property management firm based in Atlantic Canada and was involved in multi-res, before moving into a Property Manager role for over 2,000 units. The company was purchased by Oxford Properties, and Dwayne became an Asset Manager for 15 schools built as public-private partnerships throughout Nova Scotia. In this role, Dwayne worked with the developer, consultants, contractors, and school boards to ensure delivery of a quality product and to establish property management and maintenance policies and procedures. Subsequently, Dwayne became Director of Property Management for another regional management company, where he was responsible for over 800,000 square feet of office space and several hundred apartments, as well as oversight of the project management division.

Dwayne has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from St. Francis Xavier University, and has participated in continuing education through the Real Estate Institute of Canada and Realpac. In 2017, Dwayne completed the Real Property Investment Certificate Program through Realpac and Ryerson University (Ted Rogers School of Management).

Jean-Philippe Dubé Jean-Philippe Dubé CPA, CMA

As Vice President & Head of Quebec, Development, Jean-Philippe is in charge of all investment activities in the province of Quebec for Fiera Real Estate Opportunity and Development funds.

In addition to contributing to prospecting new potential partners, he analyzes investment opportunities and leads due diligence activities, in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. He is also involved in all capital-raising efforts for Fiera Real Estate Opportunity and Development funds.

Jean-Philippe has worked in the real estate industry for more than 15 years, including 10 years focusing on real estate development, gaining extensive expertise in transaction negotiation and underwriting. Starting in 2002, he has held various positions of increasing responsibilities at Cadim, SITQ and Ivanhoé Cambridge, three real estate subsidiaries of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. In 2006, he was appointed Director, Strategic Partnerships. He then acted as Director, Asset Management within the hotel portfolio and as Senior Director, Investments for the Growth Markets platform. In 2011, Jean-Philippe was Director, Investment, at Ipso Facto Real Estate Funds. He joined Fiera Real Estate in 2014, where he was appointed Vice president, Investments. Throughout his career, Jean-Philippe has initiated, negotiated and managed partnerships as well as local and international real estate transactions. He has been involved in the development, acquisition and management of over $5.0B representing more than 20,000 residential units, 1.2M sq. ft. of commercial space and 600,000 sq. ft. of office space.

Jean-Philippe is a member of the economic committee of the Urban development institute of Québec, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from HEC Montréal and holds the CPA, CMA designation.

Jean-Philippe Brault Jean-Philippe Brault

As Vice President, Development, Jean-Philippe is responsible for sourcing and implementing real estate partnerships for Fiera Real Estate Opportunity and Development funds.

In addition to contributing to prospecting new potential partners and managing existing partnerships, he analyzes investment opportunities and leads due diligence activities, in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Jean-Philippe has worked in the real estate industry for more than 10 years, gaining extensive expertise in property valuation and market analysis. He has spent most of his career at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton as Director, Real Estate Advisory. He also worked at Ivanhoé Cambridge as Senior Advisor, Valuation and Investment in 2011. Jean-Philippe joined Fiera in 2016. Throughout his career, Jean-Philippe has led the valuation process of large real estate portfolios as well as numerous market analyses that have enabled him to develop a strong expertise in multiresidential real estate, especially in the senior housing sector. He also participated in numerous financial due diligence assignments in the context of acquisitions. As part of Fiera Real Estate, he is also responsible for the development of more than 3,000 residential units representing over $750M.

Jean-Philippe holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from HEC Montréal and holds the Chartered Appraiser designation from the OEAQ.

Tammy Newhook Tammy Newhook CMA

Vice President, Strategic Systems Initiatives

Tammy Newhook is a professional accountant with 30 years of real estate experience across all property types and has always had an aptitude for software.

As Vice President, Strategic Systems Initiatives, Tammy identifies, purchases, implements, tests, transitions and supports software that facilities the fast growth of the company.

Tammy began her career at a Halifax-based real estate firm where she worked on residential, office, and hotel properties.  Tammy’s next role was Assistant Controller for an investment organization where she oversaw cash management and was responsible for the creation of multi-company financial statements.

In 1992, Tammy joined Roycom as a Property Accountant and was promoted to Controller, where she worked with all property types and institutional investors. Her duties included the overall financial management and performance measurement of their properties.

Tammy also worked with Summit REIT during its initial public offering and subsequently, while it was externally managed by Roycom. In addition, she led the accounting transition team when Enterprise Property Group (led by Stuart Lazier) took over Roycom's property management business in 1996.

Tammy is a member of the FEI Atlantic Chapter and former president of the MRI Canadian user group. Tammy was also actively involved in the management of the Forest Hills Soccer Club in Halifax for 12 years.

Tammy completed her Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation in 1996.

Michael Le Coche Michael Le Coche CFA

Manager, Portfolio Analytics and Research

Michael, who joined Fiera Real Estate in 2012, has eight years of experience in the investment industry.

As Manager, Portfolio Analytics and Research, he is primarily responsible for implementing the firm’s research program by providing top-down investment and economic research and analysis, to support the executive team with respect to strategic investment-related decisions. Michael also conducts the portfolio analytics program, by identifying sources of market risk and return in the firm’s various mandates.

He launched his career in 2007, with stints at two leading Canadian financial institutions, CIBC and TD Bank, as a financial advisor. His duties included the provision of lending and investment solutions to clients, as well as underwriting mortgages.

Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and earned his CFA accredition in 2012.

Paul Macchione Paul Macchione CFA

Paul began his career in commercial real estate in 2011.

As Vice President, Investments, Paul is primarily responsible for sourcing, underwriting and executing investment transactions for all of Fiera Real Estate’ real estate funds and segregated accounts.

Paul began his career in commercial real estate in 2011. With over $2 billion in transactional activity to his credit, he has a strong background in acquisitions, dispositions and financings on behalf of a variety of large institutional and pension fund clients, including the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation, the Nova Scotia Pension Services Corporation, Ontario Power Generation and the Ontario Financing Authority.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Master of Real Property Development from the Schulich School of Business and is a CFA charter holder.

Oraska Tam Oraska Tam MBA, CFA

As Asset Manager, Oraska is responsible for properties in the Fiera Real Estate CORE Fund and Segregated Funds.

Prior to joining Fiera Real Estate, Oraska was employed as an asset-management analyst at Great West Life Realty Advisors, where she worked alongside a team responsible for $2.2 billion of office and retail properties in Ontario. She previously worked as an investment analyst for the BSAR Group of Companies, Toronto-based condominium developer.

Oraska has served the industry and her community as a committee member of the Toronto Urban Land Institute Women’s Leadership Initiative, and as event organizer for the Schulich Real Property Alumni Association.

Oraska has an MBA from York University (Schulich School of Business) and a B.Eng. in Nuclear Engineering from University of Ontario, Institute of Technology.

Maria Beirnes Maria Beirnes CPA, CA

As Asset Manager, Maria is responsible for properties in the Fiera Real Estate CORE Fund and Segregated Funds. Maria currently oversees all asset classes located in GTA West, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa and Calgary. Maria has extensive experience in asset management, valuation, leasing, investments, as well as fund reporting and investor relations. Prior to joining Fiera, Maria worked at Fengate Asset Management, in the role of their Asset Manager for two and a half years and Manager of Financial Reporting and Compliance for two years. She was responsible for overseeing $1.3 billion of office, retail, residential and development properties in Canada. Subsequently, Maria worked within the private company services audit group at Collins Barrow LLP.

Maria holds a Bachelors of Accounting from Brock University and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Chris Clademenos Chris Clademenos AACI

Chris began his career in commercial real estate in 2014 providing analytical support to Investment and Asset Management teams.

As a Real Estate Analyst supporting both the Investment and Asset Management teams, Chris assists with underwriting, due diligence and transaction management of investment opportunities as well as portfolio and asset analytics to assist in property and fund performance, monitoring and measurement. Prior to joining Fiera Real Estate, Chris was a senior analyst within the land valuation group at Altus Group where he was involved in the valuation of over $3 billion worth of high, medium, and low density residential, commercial, and mixed-use land/developments across ±3,000 acres throughout the GTA/GGH. Before working at Altus Group, he worked at Colliers International in a research capacity. Chris earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph’s Real Estate and Housing Development Program as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation from the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business. In 2018, he earned his AACI designation.

Kailey MacKenzie Kailey MacKenzie CPA

As an Analyst, Kailey assists with underwriting, due diligence and transaction management of investment opportunities across Canada for each of Fiera Real Estate’s funds.

Prior to joining Fiera Real Estate, Kailey worked as a Senior Analyst in Acquisitions and Development at CT REIT where she was responsible for the underwriting and due diligence of investment and development projects, focused mainly in the retail asset class across Canada. Kailey began her career at Ernst & Young in the real estate assurance practice, where she spent three years working on large public client engagements, including evaluation of complex corporate transactions, financial reporting and technical advisory, project budgeting and year end audit.

Kailey holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Honours) as well as a Graduate Diploma in Accounting, both from Queen’s University. While at Ernst & Young, Kailey earned her CPA designation in 2017.

Hugo Durand-Leblanc Hugo Durand-Leblanc CPA, CGA

As Senior Analyst, Development, Hugo is responsible for the financial analysis aspects of all investment opportunities such as comprehensive financial modelling and return projections.

He analyzes investment opportunities and supports the Vice Presidents in all due diligence and asset management activities, in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. He also assists the Fiera Real Estate Opportunity and Development funds team in managing existing partnerships as well as capital-raising efforts. Hugo has worked in the real estate industry for 7 years, gaining extensive experience in transaction underwriting and partnership due diligence. He joined the Fonds Immobilier de Solidarité FTQ in 2011 as Financial Analyst. In April 2015, he was appointed Senior Analyst, Investment, Growth Markets at Ivanhoé Cambridge. During his career, Hugo was involved in the creation of multiple partnerships and has been the lead financial analyst for transactions totalling more than $3.5B in multiple asset classes both locally and internationally representing over 9,000 residential units as well as 600,000 sq.ft. and 200,000 sq.ft. of office and industrial space, respectively. Hugo holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from Sherbrooke University and holds the CPA, CGA designation.

Maxime Charron Maxime Charron

As an Analyst, Maxime is responsible for the financial analysis activities of all investment opportunities such as comprehensive financial modelling and return projections.

He analyzes investment opportunities and supports the Vice Presidents in all due diligence and asset management activities, in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. He also assists the Fiera Real Estate Opportunity and Development funds team in managing existing partnerships as well as capital-raising efforts.

Maxime has worked for Fiera for more than 4 years as Financial Analyst, where he has been involved in both the Corporate Financing and Real Estate Investment divisions. During his career, Maxime was involved in the creation of multiple partnerships and has been the lead financial analyst for transactions totalling more than $2.0B in multiple asset classes totalling over 5,000 residential units, 330,000 sq. ft. of commercial space and 30,000 sq.ft. of office space.

Maxime holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from HEC Montréal. He is currently a member of the Young Ambassadors network of the Urban development institute of Québec and is currently enrolled in the CFA program as a level 3 candidate.

Viriane Pes Viriane Pes

She analyzes investment opportunities and supports the Vice Presidents in all due diligence activities, in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. She also assists the Real Estate Investment team in all capital-raising efforts for Fiera Real Estate Opportunity and Development funds.

Viriane has worked in the real estate industry for 5 years, gaining extensive expertise in market, transaction and risk analysis. She started her career as a financial analyst for Bank of Montreal in 2012. In 2014, she joined Colliers International in the Research and Valuation Group. In August 2015, she was appointed Senior Analyst, Risk Management at Ivanhoé Cambridge, where she analyzed transaction risks totalling over $200M. During her career, Viriane was involved in multiple valuation processes in Canada and has been analyzing markets and transaction risks totalling $5B in multiple asset classes (residential, office and industrial) both locally and internationally.

Viriane holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from HEC Montréal and is currently enrolled in the CFA program as a level 2 candidate.
